Trump, during the interview, said, “I kid Tom, but he’s a friend of mine. I think he’s a great character. You have other guys in the NFL and in life who have all the equipment but don’t make the pass. Tom’s a great guy, and he and Ivanka would make a great combination.”

Tom Brady and Donald Trump’s friendship started in 2002 after Brady had won his first Super Bowl. After the win, the two met in a Jitterbug Contest where Brady was also the judge. The two shared a very close bond, and Trump even thought of making him his son-in-law. Although he never asked or mentioned it to Brady.
