Former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has impressed a lot of people with his abilities on the field over the years. But, in 2016, it was Brady’s chance to change his mind over former best friend and then-President-elect Donald Trump. The change in Brady seemed to stem from his wife, Gisele Bündchen, and her dislike for Trump.

The 7-time Super Bowl champion was following the orders of his better half and completely focussing on winning football games. She has been unhappy with Trump over the years and added to her list of reasons after his claims of Brady being a supporter during a 2016 rally in New Hampshire. The stance of the 15-time Pro Bowler has undergone a shift and states, “I think that’s a good decision … made for our family.

Another instance of Bündchen and her dislike for Trump was her support for an anti-Trump protest in 2017. The protest titled ‘The People’s Climate March’ was taking place in Washington DC in April 2017. While promoting the protests on social media, she states, “On April 29th in Washington- D.C. – March for climate, jobs, and justice. To change everything, we need everyone.”

The absence of Brady was not well received by the President, who omitted himself from mentioning the QB’s name in his speech. The distancing by Brady from Trump was upsetting for him and was the final nail at the end of their friendship. As the new NFL season approaches, Brady will again be switching his focus to winning yet another Super Bowl title in 2022.
