Julian Edelman played his entire 12-year career with the New England Patriots and Tom Brady, and after 20 years with the Patriots Brady joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who retired last month. Whereas Julian Edelman retired in April 2021.
On April 1, 2023, Edelman reposted an old Instagram post on Twitter. The post showed him signing with the Buccaneers and had a caption suggesting a new chapter. Although it was an April Fool joke, it caused excitement among fans and media on both platforms. This year also Edelman shared the same post from last year and captioned it, “Just gonna leave this here…”. It has left fans speculating once again.

Edelman admitted on ‘SHOWTIME Basketball’ that his Instagram post and returning to play football with Brady and Buccaneers was an April Fool’s joke but conceded that he always has competitive instincts. However, he recognized that Brady’s age and skills make him an exception.
“you can’t put Brady in the conversation that’s like an oxymoron right instead of how old he’s,” mentioned Edelman.
Rich Eisen shares Julian Edelman’s prank on Kurt Warner
Last year, Rich Eisen recounted this prank on his show and how Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner fell for it while on vacation. Kurt asked Rich if the news was true, but Rich reminded him it was April 1st and Edelman had put “April Fool’s” on the graphic.

Eventually, Kurt realized it was a joke and replied, “Haha got you,” Rich further said, “sweetheart Kurt Warner, well done. Julian, you got Kurt Warner nice in the corner of the globe.”
As the dust settles on Edelman’s latest April Fool joke, fans can continue to speculate about the former player’s future in football. While he may not be returning to the field soon, his presence in the football world remains strong as a host on Inside the NFL.
