The former supermodel Gisele Bündchen opened up about her relationship with Leonardo DiCaprio. Before marrying Tom Brady Bündchen was dating the legendary movie star. Things did not work out between the two, as they ultimately broke up in the end. 

The 41-year-old has revealed how that time was difficult for her. She was falling into a very dark place. The supermodel had to change things around herself and her lifestyle. She chose yoga and exercise over cigarettes and wine. She also ended her five-year relationship with DiCaprio because she didn’t feel he was right for her.  

Gisele Bündchen experienced a dark period in her early life

Gisele Bündchen was on the top of the fashion industry in the early 2000s. Everywhere you go, you would find billboards and advertising with Bündchen’s face on it. She attracted the attention of one of the biggest stars in Hollywood, Leonardo DiCaprio. The two dated for almost five years. But it would not work out in the end.

Bündchen would fall in a dark place around that time. The early twenties are hard for everyone, but Gisele wanted to change things for herself. While speaking to Porter magazine, the supermodel said, “When I was going through my panic attacks, I didn’t even feel like I could share with anyone.”

Bündchen said that she kept suppressing her feelings, but it only made everything worse. She was done hiding the pain behind wine and cigarettes. The doctors prescribed her some Xanax, but she didn’t want to take those. Gisele wanted to change her lifestyle. 

In her book “Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life” she wrote about everything and revealed the reason why she had to end things with DiCaprio. “No longer numbing myself with smoking, drinking, and too much work, I was becoming more and more aware of things that I’d chosen not to look at,” Bündchen continues, “Was I alone in wanting to do some serious soul-searching while he stayed the same? In the end, unfortunately, the answer was yes.”

Gisele was able to create a home with Tom Brady

 Gisele met Tom Brady on a blind date. Both of them hit things off. They started dating in 2006 and got married in 2009. For Tom Brady, Bündchen writes, “is someone you can count on. It’s a quality I hadn’t experienced in any of my other romantic relationships. I love my husband – and most of all, I trust him. With Tom, who provides our family with a stable foundation, I’m able to create a home.”
