After the game ended, Patrick Mahomes told the media, “It’s hard to put it into words. The Guys were still ready to go. It’s still a very tragic situation and you want to keep that in the back of your mind, and you give prayers to the family involved. I don’t want to say it affected us on the field. They beat us. Mahomes prayed for those affected by the accident and said all the players had the thought in their minds. But it did not affect the game, and this cannot be the reason for their loss against the Buccaneers. The Chiefs had given their 100 percent, but the Brady-led Buccaneers outperformed them.
