Like the wide receiver’s market saw a sudden surge this off-season, Niner’s star athlete George Kittle wants a similar rise in the tight end market. While talking in a recent interview, Kittle raised concerns over his counterpart Travis Kelce being paid less compared to other WRs in his team.

The Chiefs’ tight end is receiving under $15 million annually. Which is nearly half of Tyreek Hill’s $30 million per year deal with the Miami Dolphins. According to Kittle, the Chiefs star deserves much better for his contributions.

Recently, the Niners TE talked to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, who touched on various topics in the discussion. He was on a Friday visit to promote PFTPM’s second annual Tight End University (TEU).

Florio asked him to name a TE that impressed him the most. Meanwhile, the 28-year-old rattled about the current scenario for Kelce and how he got denied a lucrative contract.

“I mean Travis Kelce, six seasons in a row, 1000 yards,” Kittle said. “I’m pretty sure he has the most receiving yards over any wide receiver, skill position in the last six years. He gets paid half of what a wide receiver makes, which just boggles my mind.”

“I mean, to me, Travis Kelce, he’s been doing it for so long and at such a high level. And he doesn’t have an off game. I think he has one bad game a year, and it’s just because he’s getting triple-teamed.” Kittle said on the show.

Moreover, Kittle analyzed some statistics on tight end’s contribution to every team and exclaimed that they are equally critical for a franchise’s success.

“Every NFL team … that’s won a Super Bowl or been to the Super Bowl for like the last five years has had an All-Pro tight end a part of the team. I feel a tight end’s not just like a cog in the wheel; it’s an important position that can really add to your offense or diminish it.” Kittle added to his speech.

Travis Kelce and George Kittle- are exceptional talents for their teams

Travis Kelce and George Kittle have won a Super Bowl ring for their respective teams. Even though Kelce happens to be a senior for the Niners star, both of them have equally minted several entitlements to their name.

Since 2014, Kelce has evolved into a prime target for the Chiefs, and in the upcoming season, he will prove to be a lethal weapon for the Chiefs offensive unit in absence of star receiver Tyreek Hill.
