Former University of Alabama college football star Tua Tagovailoa has enjoyed quite a stirring start to his NFL career. The Miami Dolphins rookie has a 3-1 record playing as a starter in 2020.
After a complete recovery from last year’s nasty injury, Tua started this year on the bench behind veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.
However, Head Coach Brian Flores (unceremoniously) dropped a shocker last month when he revealed that Tua will be the first-choice QB for the Dolphins moving forward.
But Tagovailoa suffered a thumb injury during the Week 11 clash against the Denver Broncos. He was replaced by Fitzpatrick and also missed last week’s win over the New York Jets. However, Tua’s agent has some positive news for Dolphins fans.
Hawaii-born quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is easily one of the most-loved rookies in 2020. The 22-year-old’s rise to stardom is the stuff of fables. However, his journey in the NFL thus far has been kind of a roller coaster.
After a 3-0 winning start to his league career, Tua led the Dolphins to a commanding position in the AFC East Division table. He was also credited for improving the overall atmosphere in the locker room and motivating his teammates.
But all that ended in Week 11 when Tua and C0. slumped to a 20-13 loss to the Broncos.
Tua is currently dealing with a thumb injury ahead of Sunday’s ‘crucial’ clash against Cincinnati Bengals. But the post from his agent Leigh Steinberg suggests otherwise.
However, NFL insider Ian Rapoport suggests that this is more an opinion rather than a confirmation on Tua’s status for Week 13.
The Ewa Beach-born athlete has already thrown for 600+ yards, with 6 passing TDs in 5 appearances this season. Will he make the return to the spotlight as the Dolphins push for a playoff spot? We’ll find out soon enough.
