The handling of the situation went through a wild ride of scrutiny, and many are under the bull’s eye range. But on a positive note, new reports have surfaced about Tagovailoa, as he is back for practice. But when would the quarterback return?

After the unfortunate situation, the medical staff stretchered Tua Tagovailoa out of the field to a medical facility. But he got his release and flew back to Miami with his teammates. The QB1 was out of action since then, as he missed out on the Jets game. Tagovailoa is back in some capacity, but his in-game return remains an enigma.

As per NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, “[Dolphins] QB Tua Tagovailoa will return to the practice field today on a limited basis, per me and [TomPelissero], as he progresses through the concussion protocol. Even if he’s cleared, he’s unlikely to play this week.”

Tua Tagovailoa is still in concussion protocol, but the franchise could clear him before Sunday’s game against the Vikings. HC Mike McDaniel stated that the starting quarterback would throw and engage in individual drills. However, he will not remain active on Sunday.

According to sources, Tagovailoa has made substantial progress lately and is on track to return to the field. After the injury, the QB1 met with four different specialists. It features the best sports concussion neurologist and neuropsychologists.

Who would take over Tua Tagovailoa for Week 6 game?

Mike McDaniel has put the extinguisher to see Tua Tagovailoa for the Week 6 game. The QB is still under concussion protocol and would function under limited capacity. With the QB1 out of action, the fins could see a backup on Sunday. However, Teddy Bridgewater is also under the concussion protocol. All eyes are now upon Skylar Thompson.

The rookie seventh-round pick will make his first regular NFL start against the Minnesota Vikings. After Tagovailoa and Bridgewater, QB Thompson is among the healthy QBs. Practice squad quarterback Reid Sinnett is the other candidate. However, McDaniel stated it is too early to determine if the franchise would need him for Sunday’s game.

The Dolphins enthusiasts would experience some rookie power on Sunday. However, they might have to wait until Tagovailoa makes his return.
