Washington Football Team concluded their 2020 NFL campaign with a narrow loss to eventual Super Bowl winners, Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The NFC East franchise entered the 2021 NFL season once again as outside candidates to make the playoffs. They suffered a humbling 20-16 loss to Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1.

Veteran and Washington first-choice QB Ryan Fitzpatrick suffered a hip injury which ruled him out for an extended spell on the sidelines. QB Taylor Heinicke started Thursday night’s game at the FedEx Field ahead of Kyle Allen.

On the other hand, it was QB Daniel Jones who had a point to prove to all his doubters amongst the New York Giants fanbase. The youngster put in a spirited display on the road but failed to lead his team to a win.

Ultimately, the Giants suffered a narrow 29-30 loss as Washington came from behind to win their first game of the ongoing season.

Washington Football Team pull off a sensational win over NY Giants

Thursday night’s game in the national capital was an absolute thriller, as most primetime fixtures often are. A field goal by Washington Football Team kicker Dustin Hopkins was enough to hand the home team a morale-boosting win in front of a packed stadium.

The return of RB Saquon Barkley was one of the highlights from tonight’s game. But both quarterbacks showed grit and determination which resulted in an epic finish.

Washington’s defense did not show up tonight or else the game would not have been as close as it eventually was. But that is something for coach Ron Rivera to work upon in the build up to Week 3.
