In a riveting performance against Belarusian tennis icon Aryna Sabalenka, Gauff claimed the victory 6-2 in the third set on Saturday.

With the historic win, Gauff will go down in the annals of the history of US tennis as the latest Black American woman to bring the title to American soil, following in the footsteps of tennis sensations like Serena Williams, Venus Williams, and Althea Gibson. As the young sensation claimed her maiden grand title, wishes were pouring in for Gauff from all corners. Ciara was equally elated at her fellow sister’s success.

Ciara was all praise for Gauff’s stunning victory at Flushing Meadows. The ladylove of Russell Wilson took to her Instagram story to join in the celebration of this historic win. Her post revealed a snap of Gauff, and the caption read, “Queen of Queens @ Coco Gauff.Girl Power’’.

Ciara was honestly thrilled at her fellow woman’s victory. In a following post, she jotted down words by the tennis prodigy herself from her victory speech – “Thank you to those that didn’t believe in me”.Coco Gauff 🏆🏆🏆”.
