Many NFL teams are not fond of pre-season games because star players may get injured during games that don’t count. Nowadays, teams usually keep their top players out until the last exhibition game or avoid playing them altogether. It’s unusual to hear a coach announce that the starters will play before the regular season begins. It’s even more surprising to hear that a top-tier quarterback, among others, will participate in the first preseason game.

Coach Sean Payton is changing the Denver Broncos’ pre-season strategy following a previous year of keeping starters on the sidelines, a decision that backfired. Payton, who had previously criticized his predecessor, Ninathaniel Hackett, plans to play starters in pre-season games, starting with their match against the Arizona Cardinals. This includes quarterback Russell Wilson, who saw no snaps in the previous year’s pre-season. After posting some workout videos, the star #QB1 took to IG and posted a photo with his three children and the mascot Miles captioned, “Grateful for every moment.”

The Denver Broncos quarterback shared images on Instagram, featuring his children with wife Ciara – Win Harrison and Sienna Princess, and Future Zahir, Ciara’s son from a previous relationship. One picture shows them posing alongside the Broncos’ mascot, Miles. This photo can after Payton indicated that starters could get around 15 to 18 snaps in the first exhibition game. His approach contrasts with Hackett’s decisions in the prior year, which excluded intensive drills and full-speed practices to prevent injuries. These measures contributed to the Broncos’ poor start in the season.

The team’s current training camp has been marred by injuries, including wide receiver Tim Patrick’s torn Achilles and other players’ ailments. Star safety Justin Simmons is also dealing with a strained groin. While Payton did not specify Simmons’ recovery duration, he expressed the opportunity for other safeties to gain valuable experience during his absence. Though fans are excited and reacting to Wilson’s post, they look forward to how he will perform.
