Teaming up with Saber Interactive, the masterminds behind Evil Dead, Kaepernick is set to make a comeback with the arcade-style football game, Wild Card Football. Releasing on October 10, the game marks Kaepernick’s return after an absence of 2000 days since his last NFL game. 

With Wild Card Football, he’s breaking the mold and giving fans a chance to experience his electrifying presence once again, but this time in the virtual realm. Who would have thought that Colin Kaepernick would choose an arcade-style football game as his grand comeback?

Colin Kaepernick, who led the San Francisco 49ers to a Super Bowl in 2013, is known for his civil rights activism. During the 2016 season, he kneeled during the US national anthem. Despite not playing in the NFL for several years, Kaepernick’s name continues to be recognized within the sport.

Wild Card Football is set to feature real NFL players, with the trailer teasing the inclusion of players like Jalen Ramsey of the Miami Dolphins. By incorporating NFL players, the game aims to provide a sense of realism with its arcade-style gameplay experience. This unique approach aims to give gamers a fresh football experience that is different from traditional games in the genre.

Despite his absence from the NFL since 2017, Kaepernick remains primed and prepared, holding out hope for a potential return to the professional football realm. In an interview with “I Am Athlete,” he expressed his passion for the game and his determination to prove himself on the field once again. 

When asked if he wants to play football, Kaepernick’s response was: “Absolutely! I mean, that’s without question.” Recognizing the need to work his way back into the league, Kaepernick acknowledges that he is prepared to sign as a backup if necessary. However, he makes it clear that his ambition goes beyond being a backup. His ultimate goal is to become a starting quarterback again.
