Russell Wilson making his way to Denver last offseason might have shocked the Seattle fans; however, his former teammate Tyler Lockett found this an opportunity to kickstart his new journey. No, it’s not about leading the squad but selling his first real estate property after acquiring the license.
While most NFL athletes tend to utilize their offseason for family and brand endorsement campaigns, the veteran wideout reserved this time to study for a real estate license. And Russell Wilson was supposed to be his first client but unfortunately, it slipped through his hands. He would have cashed a hefty commission listing the quarterback’s $28 million house in Bellevue.

During Friday’s practice session ahead of the Week 18 match-up against the Rams, Lockett’s side hustle spread like a wildfire. Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll happened to disclose the news mentioning that the veteran seemed quite excited about Wilson’s departure because he was eying his first assignment. Getting Wilson on his debut would be the cherry on top.
“He was really excited when Russ left, because he was trying to sell his house,” Carroll said, per The Seattle Times. “I haven’t made any jokes about that at all, and I shouldn’t have done that now. But he was [wanting to sell Wilson’s house].” he added.
How did Tyler Lockett react to the comment?
To validate the authenticity of this revelation, Lockett was asked to comment on the statement. The 30-year-old admitted to giving it a thought. However, Lockett mentioned selling his own teammate’s house wasn’t something he was really interested in. Instead, he wished to be on the other side as a buyer so that Wilson won’t have to pay him. Anyways, the assignment could have been a great deal for Lockett.
