The Pittsburgh Steelers are not looking for Tyrann Mathieu this season. The Pittsburgh Steelers GM Kevin Colbert spoke to a local media recently clarifying the rumored deal. That means, Mathieu shall continue to remain as a free agent, waiting for the right and worthy deal. And the main reason for Steelers not signing Honey badger is not his play, but the contract that he deserves. The Steelers will be unable to provide the right money.

With strong Safety Terrell Edmunds still unsigned, Tyrann Matthew was a popular name linked to the Steelers for the past few days now. The team is still hunting for strong Safety, but according to the latest updates from the manager itself, things are shady for the veteran in the upcoming weeks.

Steelers clarify on Mathieu’s deal!

As an initiative to end the ongoing rumors, Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert came forward to address all their plans. The first question that came forward is their intentions regarding Tyrann Mathieu’s recruitment. Without a second thought, Colbert refused to acknowledge any such moves by the management. “Our preference is always to add players coming off of their first contract or as close to their first contract as they can be,” he replied to the local media.

Tyrann Mathieu will turn 30 before the season begins and is geared up to sign his 5th NFL contract. The three-time Pro-Bowl safety is coming off his second stint with the Kansas City Chiefs.
