The fabulous game took place on Oct. 23, 2000. Al Michaels, the then voice of Monday Night Football on ABC from 1986 to 2006, recalls the momentous and unbelievable victory of the Jets.

“Wayne Chrebet is going to pull it off. I think as usual the Jets are going to come from behind, you will see… I think the Dolphins have to be terminated,” said Schwarzenegger. It was like the Terminator came back from the future, where he saw the unbelievable result.
The unthinkable happened!
In the fourth quarter, Laveranues Coles and Jermaine Wiggins get touchdowns. Then Vinny Testaverde hits Wayne Chrebet, a touchdown that ties the game at 30-all!

People returned to the stadium at midnight when Chrebet showed his prowess. Jay Fiedler hits Leslie Shepard for a touchdown. The score went to 37-30; with Miami being at the top. The Jets get the ball back while only 30-40 seconds remaining. Testaverde drops a pass and hits Jumbo Elliott, who hit his first ever touchdown in thirteen years! Isn’t that monumental?

People started calling that game the ‘Monday Night Miracle’ because the Jets grew out of their bleakest time and defeated the Miami Dolphins in the most impressive manner possible!
