Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce hosted a concert at Azura Amphitheater in Bonner Springs, Kansas and his stunt grabbed headlines in all the wrong ways. Aptly named Kelce Jam Friday Night, Kelce seems to be the brains behind it all. Not only was the festival named after him, but it also featured artists and food items all handpicked by Kelce.

The stunt in question became the highlight of the show, and fans couldn’t help but draw comparisons to a similar thing another player pulled off not too long ago.

Fans dub Travis Kelce’s stunt a “Gronk” Copycat

While surrounded by onlookers, Travis Kelce chugged a beer off the Lombardi Trophy before spiking it. However, in a moment of apparent thoughtlessness, he threw the empty beer can on the ground and then proceeded to throw the trophy even harder, causing shock among those witnessing the incident.

Travis attempted a stunt that resembled Rob Gronkowski’s infamous antics, but it didn’t receive much appreciation. Fans quickly dubbed it the “Gronk stunt” for its blatant publicity grab. However, this incident pales in comparison to the well-known story of Gronk damaging the Lombardi trophy. This time, it was not a replica, unlike the controversial Patrick Mahomes incident where Mahomes received backlash for handing a replica trophy to a fan. Reports confirmed that Mahomes’ trophy was a replica, but Rob’s trophy was not.

In fact, the official trophy was permanently damaged with a noticeable dent on it. Comments suggest that Travis was trying too hard to emulate Gronk’s “fame-inducing” antics.

Anthony Pettis’ quote “Attitude determines efforts” upholds a sports-centric ideology that attracted me to this vibrant world of team spirit, enthusiasm, and emotions. More specifically, it was the UFC domain that encouraged my strive as an avid follower. Soon I found myself resonating with another divergent sport- the American football. Ironically, just like UFC, its in-game energy brought out the calmness within me. This aspect, eventually, led me to step into the arena of writing, and I cultivated a love for NFL through words, stories, and experiences. Precisely, I have come to enjoy watching QB of the Bengals, Joe Burrow, take on the field and exhibit his magic. It is his serenity and accuracy during the match that inspires me to narrate the insider scoop on the player's thoughts and feelings. This allows my articles to contrive on three pillars—facts, analysis, and opinions. Throughout my journey, hence, I have covered varied aspects of the matches, from the core sport highlights to the off-court banter. I believe this connection to the NFL game on so many levels has become my reason for generating over 700 articles, hoarding the interest of thousands of readers, and achieving Publishing Rights at EssentiallySports. Away from the NFL enthusiasm, I spend my time glued to the screen watching other sports and gaining beneficial knowledge.
