In a recent bid to appeal to youngsters and attract a larger audience, Washington Commanders have hired a social media correspondent to the team. In this forward-thinking strategy, a 19-year-old student is taking charge, with all the privileges to promote the team’s ideologies.
This is a first-of-its-kind initiative undertaken by any team. Moreover, this will help the franchise re-establish itself from a rocky past. This new correspondent is a popular influencer having prior experience in covering sports-related news and on-field activities of a football game.

The news was initially unveiled on the team’s official website, and ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter revealed that a 19-year-old media influencer Katie Feeney will be the team’s first-ever “Social Media Correspondent.”

Katie provides a youthful perspective that will reach new eyes and ears and help cultivate the next generation of fans as we enter the inaugural season of the Washington Commanders” the statement read.
This significant move will help Fenney to film all the unopened doors covering the team on and off the field. This also includes Commanders’ draft day, rookie minicamp, media day, training camp, and home games in the 2022 season.

Her official stint will begin at the team’s annual draft-day party on Thursday, April 28, at FedEx Field. Well, it would be exciting to see how much success, will this new position bring to the team.
