NFL athletes showing up at other sporting events have garnered a lot of attention. The recent edition of AEW had some major surprises, where both the NFL and AEW fanbase had a thrilling moment. The 20/04 edition of Dynamite, which featured on Wednesday, saw two Pittsburgh Steelers athletes, Najee Harris and Pat Freiermuth featuring on AEW’s flagship show.

The wrestling and NFL sector have witnessed some major collaborations in the past. Many NFL fans will remember Rob Gronkowski being the WrestleMania host in 2020, or Ben Roethlisberger hosting WWE RAW back in 2009. With many athletes showing up at wrestling events, it has been a major involvement, and it has been a very cool way to engage the fans.

Pittsburgh Steelers equip reinforcement to Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D.

Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D., the former AEW women’s champion, made her homecoming to the AEW Dynamit last night. The ‘Brittsburgh’ gathering lauded Baker as a hero in her hometown. To everyone’s amazement, she marched down the incline, flanked by Pittsburgh Steelers NFL players Najee Harris and Pat Freiermuth. Harris held a massive ‘Terrible Towel,’ then joined her on the ramp. Freiermuth and Baker were both students at Penn State University.

Baker made her first broadcast performance in her homeland since capturing the AEW women’s championship in May 2021, and she did so while sporting a special black and yellow jacket with Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates emblems.

Britt Baker competed against Danielle Kamela in the first round of the Owen Hart Foundation women’s tournament. Both Harris and Freiermuth stood outside the ring, being the hype men for the Pittsburgh native.

Danielle Kamela erred by utilizing the Steelers’ famed Terrible Towel as weaponry, and she faced the consequences as she tapped out to Baker’s Lockjaw. The significant scene came when she donned a Steelers receiver glove prior to capturing Kamela in the submission maneuver. After her victory, with both the Steelers athletes in the squared circle, she issued a warning to the surviving competitors in the Owen Hart Foundation women’s tournament.

A day before the AEW Dynamite broadcast on Wednesday, Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. paid a visit to the Pittsburgh Steelers facility. Apart from Najee Harris and Pat Freiermuth, she met head coach Mike Tomlin and other athletes.

Being a Punxsutawney native, Britt Baker calls Ben Roethlisberger her “Favorite Steeler“. She also mentions that once Tony Kahn and the Jacksonville Jaguars gave her an autographed Roethlisberger jersey when she couldn’t attend the game because of the COVID-19 guidelines.

Interestingly, the Steelers glove she donned during her qualifiers match was offered to her by the Pittsburgh Steelers franchise.
