WATCH: Giants RB Saquon Barkley Intentionally Slides Before Touchline to Avoid a Touchdown

New York Giants Running Back Saquon Barkley had a superb outing against the Ravens. He rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown. The 25-year-old also took three catches for 12 yards as the Giants eked out a 24-20 win. It extended the Giants’ stunning show in the new season.  

However, it was his deliberate slide in the game that caught the attention of the NFL world. Barkley had a lane to the end zone, but instead of going for points, he took a slide after a 6-yard gain to get the first down. It forced the Ravens to burn their final two timeouts and helped the Giants to get the win.

His act of avoiding a touchdown made the game analysts and Twitter talk. Meanwhile, the video became viral and several fans shared it.

Talking after the game, Barkley acknowledged the decision was not a suddenly planned one. The talented star added that he knew fantasy owners would not be happy, but he had got a job to do for the team. Meanwhile, the loss pushed the opponents, the Ravens, to 3-3 at the end of Week 6.
