The COVID-19 pandemic has suspended almost every sport on the planet for over two months now. None of us really expected something so unprecedented to occur. However, with the novel coronavirus curves slowly beginning to flatten, the return of sports doesn’t seem so far away. In fact, a few sports have already rescheduled and have begun playing. Even the NFL is expected to return in September after a long wait. The Philadelphia Eagles will be playing the Washington Redskins on Sept. 13, first Sunday after the League kicks off.
What about Major League Baseball?
Major League Baseball was initially slated to begin its 2020 season in March. However, due to the pandemic and other consequent issues, the League still hasn’t set a schedule for this season.

The League and its Players Association have been negotiating a plan to return to play for about a month now, but to no avail. The Association rejected the League’s proposal for 72 games this season over salary concerns. Failing negotiations only means fewer games to be played whenever the League decided to return.

Harper is among the top players in baseball and was awarded the NL MVP in 2015. A six-time All-Star, Bryce was drafted first overall by the Washington Nationals in 2010. He played for the Nationals till 2018, after which he moved to the Phillies.

Bryce apparently grew up watching the Dallas Cowboys and is a big fan of theirs. During a 2017 WWE game, Harper was spotted wearing a Cowboys hat, which reaffirmed to many his love for the team. “I wear [my Cowboys hat] every day. I’ve always been a Cowboy fan since I was 5 years old. I’m a Duke fan, I’m a Laker fan. I mean, I’m from Vegas, I’ll gamble on the best every single day. That’s what I do”, he told the Washington Post in 2017.
However, since he moved to Philadelphia last year, the baseballer’s loyalty seems to have shifted. He has moved on to supporting the Eagles now. “I love green and black. I think it’s awesome. Black, green, and white… it’s sick”, he said while talking to NBCS.

Interestingly, a former Eagles quarterback, Christian Hackenberg, is now looking to make a career in baseball, as a pitcher. “I feel like I’ve got a lot left in the tank,” Hackenberg said. “And if one door closes and I have the opportunity to open another one, why not do it?
