The Miami Dolphins went painstakingly close to making the playoffs last season. Shuffling between the quarterback duo of rookie Tua Tagovailoa and veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick, the side went 8-8 side narrowly missing out on their first postseason appearance since 2016.
Now with Fitzpatrick gone, 2021 will see the franchise have Tua Tagovailoa have their starting QB. No longer a rookie, Tua knows he’ll have to take his game up a notch if they are to make the playoffs.
Tua’s performance on Day 1 of the Dolphins’ minicamp though wouldn’t have evoked much confidence among their fanbase. Throwing five interceptions on a day marred by heavy rain, many doubted whether the former Alabama QB was ready to make the step up.

Among his six touchdowns included a 50-yarder to rookie wideout Jaylen Waddle. The two were teammates at Alabama before and thus it’s clear to understand where the chemistry comes from. But Tua’s deep dime to Jakeem Grant was perhaps his most impressive play from Day 2.
