The Bill Belichick-led New England Patriots entered the Week Two clash against the Seattle Seahawks as underdogs. They knew that Pete Carroll’s team functioned like a well-oiled machine, and that’s exactly what happened on Sunday night. The home team sealed a 35-30 win against the Patriots.

Cam Newton, Julian Edelman, and the rest of the Patriots offense had a productive outing last night. However, they fell short in the fourth quarter and handed the Seahawks a comfortable win.

However, the six-time Super Bowl-winning coach said that he was ‘proud’ of his boys despite an unfavorable result.

He said, “We had one play to score and we tried to go with what we thought was our best play. I thought Seattle made a good play. In the end, we just came up a little bit short. Proud of the way that our guys competed here. We just didn’t quite have enough.”

“I thought our team competed hard. We scored, we covered a kickoff, got the ball back, got it to the one-yard line. Seattle made a good play. Give them credit. They deserved to win,” Belichick told NFL Network after Sunday night’s game.

Despite the loss, there were quite a few positives for the Patriots yesterday. Cam Newton looked sharp and made some big plays for the visitors. The Carolina Panthers must be sulking over their decision to let the former 2015 NFL MVP award winner leave in the offseason.

Coach Belichick will not have time to sulk over this defeat. The Boston-based franchise host the Las Vegas Raiders at the Gillette Stadium this weekend. After that, they go on the road for a mouth-watering clash against reigning champions Kansas City Chiefs at the Arrowhead Stadium in Week Four.
