“We Had Our Chances”: Frustrated Tom Brady Annoyed With Points Game After Buccaneers Suffer Embarrassing OT Defeat

Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are having a season they would prefer to soon forget. The former Super Bowl champions look nowhere close to previous versions of themselves. The Buccaneers suffered a 17-23 loss to a very fired-up Cleveland Browns squad.
Forced into overtime, the Bucs do not have an excuse for not scoring, because they did. The Bucs had a lead over the Browns until Jacoby Brissett’s last-minute touchdown throw to David Njoku.

Tom Brady is not oblivious to the Bucs’ flaws
The Tampa Buccaneers’ defense could not stop the Browns during the end of regulation or overtime. After the game, a disgruntled Brady spoke to the media and gave his reasons for why he thought the Bucs did not emerge victorious. He said, “We just didn’t score enough points, you know, and 17 points isn’t going [sic] to do it and that’s basically what we’ve been doing all year.” Brady is not oblivious to the fact that there were chances that the Bucs squandered away. “Had a chance you know, give them a lot of credit, they made some real clutch plays, fourth down completion for the touchdown is a great play but we had our chances you know, we just didn’t make the plays and they did,” he added

This victory ended the Browns’ two-game losing streak. They were able to get Brady to the ground with three sacks after halftime. Tampa Bay almost had a victory on its hands. But that was before Brissett forced them into overtime. Browns tight end David Njoku, to his credit, made an immaculate catch to level the scores. In what might have been Brissett’s last game as staring quarterback before Deshaun Watson replaces him, the 29-year-old came through when he was most needed.

Brady and Bucs have to pick up their socks
Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for Brady and the Bucs. With this loss, Tampa has slipped to 5-6 this season. They will be hosting the New Orleans Saints in their next game. The Bucs have faced the Saints once before this season and emerged victorious. Can they pull off a win again?
The fans will hope so. The teams need as many wins as they can get to improve their current standing. Tom Brady, who hasn’t been himself for a major part of the season, will hope to remind fans why he’s a seven-time Super Bowl champion.
