“We Shattered the Olympic Record and the World Record”: Track and Field Star and NFL Legend O. J. Simpson Recalls His Glorious College Career

Despite the controversies, O. J. Simpson is among the NFL legends who left an impact on the gridiron. The athlete has had an extraordinary run, picked up back-to-back accolades, and flowed well on the turf. But aside from football, the running back was also a track and field star. He reminisced about his time in the sport and being a part of a record-breaking team.

The former NFL running back appeared on the Full Send podcast with Kyle Forgeard and friends. While speaking about the Kris Jenner affair and Donald Trump, the hosts brought up the track and field career of O. J. Simpson. The Juice vividly recalled his time in college as a sophomore track and field star.

O. J. Simpson mentioned, “When I came to USC as a second-semester sophomore. It was February when I got there and I ran track and we won the National Championship indoor and outdoor. I was on the record-breaking 4×100 relay team. We shattered the Olympic record and the world record so we won this… It was before football season so, I was a track guy.”

“So we had won both indoor and outdoor track championships and for me. That was terrific and then football, we ended up winning the national championship in football; which was just at that point maybe the highlight of my career,” He added.

The ex-NFL RB flew back to 1967 when O. J. Simpson won the 4 x 110-yard relay at the NCAA track and field championships in Provo, Utah. He sealed it in a world-record time of 38.6 seconds. It’s a record that might never be snapped.

O. J. Simpson was able to straighten things out after years. The longstanding rumor of him being Khloé Kardashian’s biological father spread like wildfire. Despite years of denial by the Kardashians, the legendary running back could finally address the rumor during his latest podcast appearance.
