Turns out the recently announced head coach of LSU Brian Kelly is not that good of a person after all. As according to a previously shared anecdote by the now New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh, Brian Kelly treated him and Matt LaFleur very badly during their days as assistants in Central Michigan about 15 years ago.

Saleh remembers the time when they were invited over to their boss’s party only to find out that they were not on the guests’ list but on the workers’ list. Kelly made them both shovel the snow and park the cars of his party guests.

Robert Saleh on how he was treated by Brian Kelly

“We shoveled the snow and parked all the cars,” Saleh told ESPN in 2019 when he was still the 49ers’ defensive coordinator. “Then, at the end of the night, we had to go get the cars again.” A classic high-handed, shameless behavior from Kelly.

“We decided that when we’re in that position, we’re never going to treat people the way we got treated,” Saleh added. Although both of them are certainly living their dream since both are now the head coach of NFL teams vying for a spot in the Super Bowl.

The 60-year-old LSU head coach is known for leaving his teams on a similar note and with little to no warning. Although the Irish will barely get into the CFP or play in a New Year’s Six bowl, but he knows well enough that his chances of winning the national title are better at LSU.

“The expectation for me was to be a legitimate contender for championships,” Kelly said in a video tweeted by LSU Tuesday morning.
