Ever since Tom Brady left the New England Patriots at the end of the 2019 season, his fans are curious. Many of them have been so attached to the iconic quarterback that they aren’t sure whom to support, the Patriots or Brady’s new team. Certainly, the truest Patriots supporters won’t ditch their club for an individual, no matter how much he contributed to the club’s glory. But at the same time, it’s tough to say if Brady will be able to perform at his best when he takes the field for Tampa Bay Buccaneers. At the same time, how well the Patriots would be able to cope up with Brady’s absence, is the real debate right now.

Tom Brady will have an upper hand

According to the Kansas City Chiefs running back LeSean McCoy, Bill Belichick will find it challenging to handle his boys with a leader like Brady in his team. McCoy pointed out the toughest situations when the Patriots didn’t worry because Brady could singlehandedly change the course of the match. As per the 32-year old, New England will miss the six-time Super Bowl winner at crucial stages and might even be endangered when Brady plays against them at some point.

Speaking at the TV show, “First Take“, he said, “We disagree again (on who has got more to prove). I gotta go with Belichick. I think he’s a great coach. It’s not about it. But there’s something different in the mindset of a team when you have Tom Brady’ as the quarterback. The years I’ve been playing the Patriots that this they’re just there the way they play this how’d he do it. Okay, they come in the game you’re gonna play good defense. They’re gonna run the ball on them, they’re gonna play man. they’re gonna let you go up and down the field when the red zone, it’s tough. That’s when you get three points. You keep doing that over and over again, coz you know that there’s number 12 in the back and the backfield is gonna get seven points. So then once you get that now you let your dogs go. you blitz, you play man coverage and you create turnovers. That’s the way they played all these years man.”

The Patriots will miss Tom Brady

The gameplay at the Patriots brigade won’t be the same again. At least, that’s what McCoy believes. He continued, “Belichick has had the ability to get rid of good players and they don’t agree with his system. Every team can’t do that. They don’t have Tom Brady. So now when you look at the teams with Tom. He’s calling the ball to just anybody. You know I receive is that maybe he’s gonna go out there and catch some balls, you know. Now you can’t do that. now you can’t just have any. You better have good players around you to make plays like other teams you know. And another thing about Tom Brady. He would take less Lane to get these different guys on the defense. So you can pay like the best quarterback in the league what’s Gilmore now. you can’t do that man. Now you can’t have anybody out there.”

The Kansas City Chiefs number 25 further said, “I think the big difference now is that as a defense you have to really be a stout team you know. And shut the run game down and control the game well before you let guys go up and down the field. And they get three points and Tom Brady comes out and scores seven. and also and then clutch moments. Let’s not forget man Tom Brady in the clutch. he’s your leisure guy any time you see him man and it’s a minute left in the game to his left in the game fourth quarter there’s no sweat. you’re not worried. There’s never a time where better chance to come over sort of offense. What’s going on they know. what’s going on! Tom Brady has been at offense for years. He’s been at the office so long that he actually installed the plays so there’s not many teams like that. So when you remove that type of player, that type of leader, that type of guy, that type of… outside the building, what do you have? you have a great coach. Here we’ll see what happens, man. we’ll see what happens.”
