Jonathan Taylor was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the 2020 NFL draft. The young running back is said to be the hottest new talent in the NFL. He smashed tons of records while playing college football at the University of Wisconsin.
Taylor wants to give back to the community and college that helped him reach the NFL. The 21-year old launched a new scholarship program named ‘Be The Change’. This gesture will help provide scholarships to black student-athletes who are heading out to college. It will also be applicable to students who are graduating from Salem High School in New Jersey.

Indianapolis Colts man Jonathan Taylor starts ‘Be The Change’ Scholarship
Jonathan Taylor spoke about his latest philanthropic gesture in a recent conversation with the team’s website. The pacy running back said he wanted to give back to his alma mater and bring about a change.
“Coming from a small town of Salem, N.J., where everyone knows everyone and you have the support of the community, one thing I wanted to do was give back to that community, give back to the kids there, because I know how powerful that would be,” Taylor told Colts.com in a recent interview.

Colts running back eager to find deserving students for latest scholarship

From time to time, student-athletes do feel a sense of entitlement regarding their position in the education system. Taylor asserts that the candidates for his ‘Be The Change’ scholarship will be strongly chosen on the basis of character.
“We don’t want to have student-athletes have that persona that, ‘You’re an athlete, so you should get just get things handed to you. We want to let kids know that, ‘Hey, no matter what position you’re in, you have to work for it, day in and day out.

“I think one of the biggest things we look for is character, and we’ll have a really high emphasis on this. It’ll be heavily looked at, just because you want high-character kids to know that it goes a long way,” Taylor concluded.
