Twitter CEO Elon Musk certainly knows how to stir up a storm amongst users of the social media platform. He is not just the CEO of Twitter, but also the world’s richest man, and uses his power and position to that effect. Ever since Musk took over Twitter, he’s been changing the policies now and then. Most recently, he changed the regulations regarding Twitter verification, making it an $8 dollar subscription to be verified on the platform. This also led to 2X Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes calling out Elon Musk on Twitter, after he also lost and got back his verification following the drive against removing verification badges from unsubscribed users.
And now, the world’s richest man has caused a public outcry once again. This time, Elon Musk has gone on to put a temporary cap on certain functioning on Twitter, which is a unique decision in itself.

Elon Musk and his latest Twitter announcement
The CEO of Twitter is known for his unpredictable nature when it comes to handling the social media platform. Elon Musk acquired the social media platform from founder Jack Dorsey last year in October and has now come forward with a new set of rules imposed on his users.
To address extreme levels of data scraping & system manipulation, we’ve applied the following temporary limits:
– Verified accounts are limited to reading 6000 posts/day
– Unverified accounts to 600 posts/day
– New unverified accounts to 300/day— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) July 1, 2023
In a recent tweet, Musk stated that they have now applied temporary restrictions on Twitter users in order to address the concerns of “extreme level of data scraping & system manipulation”. According to the new rules, verified Twitter accounts can read only 6000 posts per day. On the other hand, unverified users are limited to 600 posts per day and new unverified users can access only 300 posts per day.
And this new set of rules has brought in journalists and even insiders from the NFL to share their perspectives on the changes made by Elon Musk.
Twitter world shares their thoughts on the temporary cap
The new announcement brought together users from various professions to share their opinion and perspective on the new limits set by Musk.
NFL insider, Dov Kleiman, questioned, “How long is this ‘temporary’ stuff gonna be?”
Co-host of The Pack Show, Eli Berkovits, shared a hilarious meme on the new set of rules.
