Mike Evans’ foundation and charity

The former Texas A&M star along with his wife Ashli Evans established the Mike Evans Family Foundation in December 2017.

The foundation sponsors a college scholarship program for graduating high school students from low-income families in need of financial assistance.

Evans experienced significant hardships throughout his childhood, which is why the foundation also supports women and families battling domestic violence.

“I wanted to start a foundation for a while now, and we are finally getting it done. We are focusing on helping kids who do not have the funds to go to college – kids that come from low-income families that worked really hard to apply for college and got in, but need financial assistance.”

“If I wouldn’t have had a scholarship to go college, then I probably wouldn’t have went or I’d probably be in debt if I did, so I wanted to help as much as possible in that aspect.

“Secondly, I want to focus on women and families that suffer from domestic violence because I grew up in a household with domestic violence and I know how hard that can be,” Evans said on the official website.

Evans’ childhood history has a lot to do with how he has grown into a disciplined and mature professional. He saw his uncle murder his father who was an alcoholic at the tender age of 9. His dad used to periodically abuse and physically assault his mom right since birth.

This explains why his charitable organization deals with victims of domestic violence. Evans was also involved in a lot of philanthropic work during the COVID-19 outbreak last year. He continues to contribute to the Tampa Bay community. The Mike Evans Family Foundation has pledged a total of $100,000 for COVID-19 relief efforts, with $50,000 going to the United Way Suncoast.
