Brady’s last game for New England Patriots was against the Tennessee Titans on January 4, 2020. The Patriots lost 20-13 to the Titans. Oddly, Brady’s final home game concluded with a Brady mistake. The Titans’ 20-13 loss on Jan. 4, 2020, demonstrated how Brady’s supporting cast had eroded over the years, leading to his decision to go to Tampa last year.
Brady passed for 209 yards on 37 tries and failed to score a touchdown rushing or passing for the second time in 24 home playoff starts, as New England was limited to one touchdown.
On his final pass attempt, Brady threw a pick-six to Logan Ryan, sending him on a long stroll off the field.

The six-time Super Bowl winner left the Patriots after the 2020 season for a variety of reasons. The salary cap is one example. During Brady’s last years, the team attempted to recruit talent. To improve the offensive, they signed Antonio Brown for one game and traded for Mohamed Sanu. These agreements left the Patriots with little room to negotiate a contract extension with Brady.
In November, head coach Bill Belichick told WEEI, “That’s what we did the previous five years.” “We sold out and won three Super Bowls, as well as appearing in a fourth and an AFC Championship game. We have less to work with this year. It’s not an excuse; it’s just the truth.”

The inability to recruit players also contributed to the roster’s lack of depth. The Patriots didn’t have many pass-catching options outside of veteran Julian Edelman, who was dealing with injuries. Thus, a mix of sporting and financial reasons brought an end to the legendary partnership between Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.
