However, the entire entertainment industry came to a standstill on Sunday evening. And the internet, on brand, stood divided on the issue. ESPN’s Show host Stephen A Smith makes his side clear, with his own set of severe critiques.
Will Smith came out on stage at the Oscar nominations and created a viral moment. The actor slapped Chris Rock in the face for making a joke concerning Jada Pinkett Smith and then walked back to his seat. It became one of the rarest memories in national television broadcast history. Although it appeared to be a hoax at first, everybody’s initial response stated that it was very genuine.

Everybody had an opinion on this matter, including the American sports analyst, Stephen A Smith. The ESPN star responded to the situation with a tweetstorm and a clip. He couldn’t believe what he’d witnessed and chastised Smith for his words and deeds.
He mentions in the video, “What Will Smith did tonight was straight bullsh*t. Props and congratulations to him for winning the Oscar because damn it. He deserved it. And I love the brother and I’m proud of him, but boy was that a shameful act for him to commit tonight. To go up on stage and slap Chris Rock like that, he’s lucky that he didn’t get his a** kicked, particularly after the event was over. But not by Chris Rock, to the fellows he had there with him. I mean damn!”

Stephen A. also pointed out that Denzel Washington and Bradley Cooper had to go up to the Hancock actor. Even his publicist had to rush out to calm him down. Stephen A. Smith states that there is no excuse for it, and he shouldn’t even try to justify it.
