Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his significant other Brittany Matthews seem like such a picture-perfect couple. It seems from the outside that the two know the importance of mutual admiration and respect. It might be one of the many other factors that have kept their relationship going strong for over a decade. The journey began after they met each other while attending a Whitehouse High School in Texas.

Matthews is an active social media user, just like most of this generation. Fans get an insight into their relationship through her Instagram posts. The posts date back to when she was a cheerleader, and he was a baseball pitcher in 2011. They have been together since the time Mahomes was in 10th grade and the couple went on high school dances together.

Both Mahomes and Matthews were fully supportive of each other’s foray into professional sports as the former would decide to play football and the latter would play soccer.

The couple would continue to remain strong even though for some time Matthews had to go overseas to play soccer. They did champion the long-distance relationship mantra, and Matthews was by Mahomes’s side when he won his first Super Bowl ring in 2020. It was only 7 months after the biggest professional achievement of his career that Mahomes proposed to Matthews at the Arrowhead Stadium in September 2020.

The proposal was well planned by Mahomes, who happened to decorate a private suite with rose petals and with a ‘Will You Marry Me?’ light sign on Matthews’ birthday. It was the same day Mahomes was going to receive his Super Bowl LIV winning ring. Mahomes’ proposal to Matthews might have only made their day even more special. The couple also has a young daughter named Sterling Skye, who they welcomed on February 20th, 2021.

Matthews has been a rock for Mahomes through the bad times of his professional career, as well. She was there in attendance during the Chiefs‘ loss in Super Bowl LV and during their loss against the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2021 AFC Championship game.

The pair has been going strong since and recently tied the knot on 12th March 2022 with their family and friends. The couple posted photos from their lavish wedding on social media while warming the hearts of all of their followers.
