“Where Had He Even Heard That Word?”: Son’s Curious Question Once Prompted Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady to Have an Open Conversation

Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen are one of the biggest names in their respective fields. The world knows Brady as arguably the best quarterback in NFL history. Bündchen, on the other hand, is a huge star in the fashion industry. But how did the ex-couple acclimatize their kids to the fame that came with their parents? Son’s curiosity once led to the couple having an open conversation on a matter.

Brady and Bündchen split up last October after 13 years of marriage. Their kids are, by now, used to the limelight they get for. But it wasn’t always the case and young Benjamin once prompted a serious conversation in the household on the important topic.

Gisele Bündchen recalls a Benjamin-induced conversation with Tom Brady 

Kids are always curious, especially when they are young. And according to Gisele Bündchen, young Benjamin is no different. In fact, she recalled that once Benjamin prompted a serious conversation between the now-ex-couple, just by asking a simple question.

“Out of nowhere Benny, who was at the table, said, ‘Mom- what’s a celebrity? ‘It took me a moment-‘where had he even heard that word?'” the supermodel revealed in her memoir ‘Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life’.

She explained to young Benny who exactly a celebrity was, giving examples from home. But she also had a conversation with Brady about telling the kids what they did for a living. The former New England Patriots QB then explained the concept further. He also explained how people knew his name but didn’t know him as well as his family does. Quite a conversation that would have been.

Brady and Bündchen are no longer a couple but still make it a point to raise their kids together. And maybe, satisfying the kids’ curiosity honestly helps them do that job better.

The co-parenting arrangement 

When Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen split up, they decided that it was best for their kids if they raised them together. The couple has two kids, Benny and his little sister Vivian. And since then, they spend all the time they can with the kids. The seven-time Super Bowl champion even moved closer to them in Miami after he retired from the NFL in February.

Brady’s oldest son Jack is a young adult who also helps in looking after his younger step-siblings. Brady took the trio on an adventurous vacation in the snow right after his retirement. He also adopted a kitten for Vivian, maybe also to keep himself busy.

Her ex-husband spending time with the kids means Bündchen has more time to focus on her career. She has returned to active modeling and multiple new projects suggest that she hasn’t lost her touch. The couple is ready to talk about anything with their kids, making them into curious future adults. A question answered with full honesty can surely make a huge difference.
