Which NFL Teams are Yet to Win a Super Bowl Trophy?

The 2020 NFL season concluded on a high note as Tom Brady-led Tampa Bay Buccaneers won the Super Bowl LV trophy. In doing so, they became the first team in the league’s history to lift a Lombardi Trophy on home soil in front of a limited group of fans. This was the Bucs’ second-ever Super Bowl win (the first came 18 years ago in 2002).

This was Brady’s 7th NFL Championship ring and he’s hungry for more. He has more super bowl wins than any single NFL team (Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots both have 6 apiece). But unlike the undisputed GOAT of American football, there are 13 NFL teams who are yet to win their first Super Bowl title.

The 13 teams to never win a Super Bowl trophy are Arizona Cardinals, Atlanta Falcons, Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Chargers, Minnesota Vikings and Tennessee Titans. All these 12 NFL teams are yet to win a Super Bowl trophy.

Prior to Super Bowl LII, even Nick Sirianni’s Philadelphia Eagles were part of the above list of NFL teams. However, their underdog quarterback Nick Foles etched himself in Philly sports history by leading them to their first-ever Lombardi win in 2017.

Of the above mentioned teams, the Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars, Detroit Lions and Houston Texans, are yet to make an appearance in a Super Bowl game. However, things are looking up for the Jags due to the arrival of legendary college football coach Urban Meyer this summer.

In addition to that, the Florida-based franchise also drafted Clemson Tigers QB Trevor Lawrence as the number one pick at the 2021 NFL Draft. Can he be the chosen one to lead the Jaguars to their first-ever NFL Super Bowl appearance in the coming years?
