The Last Dance showcased the Michael Jordan-led Chicago Bulls dynasty that ruled the NBA for a while. Now, the NFL has also witnessed a kind of dominance that led to the rise of the New England Patriots dynasty.

However, that dynasty appears to have finally been toppled. Previously, the franchise registered double-digit wins in the past 17 years. 16 AFC East championships, 13 conference championships and 6 Super Bowl wins are nothing to sniff at. However, with Tom Brady off to Tampa Bay, every other team will be eager to depose the Patriots from the iron throne.

1) Kansas City Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes leads a formidable Chiefs lineup and the 24-year old even bagged league MVP and Super Bowl MVP. In short, he is one of the best in the business and heralding a new era. Aside from Mahomes, the Chief boast of Tyreek Hill, Sammy Watkins, Demarcus Robinson and Mecole Hardman in defense. They also have Travis Kelce and Clyde Edwards-Helaire, in offense. The Chiefs also possess playmakers like Chris Jones, Frank Clark, Tyrann Mathieu and Juan Thornhill.

2) Baltimore Ravens

Some could also argue that the Ravens also have a shoe in to topple the New England Patriots. Baltimore struck gold in April’s draft, with first-round pick Patrick Queen as the next star linebacker. Also shoring up the squad are J.K. Dobbins and Lamar Jackson, the latter of whom is an exceptional talent. The offense incorporates the best of speed and creativity, while the defense is strong and consistent. Even the special team is a highly capable unit

3) San Francisco 49ers

Admittedly, there is a question mark hanging over quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. The franchise also roped in Trent Williams for the retiring Joe Staley, and replaced DeForest Buckner with a talented Javon Kinlaw. Further adding to the lineup is another catch-and-run nightmare, Brandon Aiyuk.

4) Dallas Cowboys

There is a strong chance that Dak Prescott eventually signs a long-term deal. backing him up are running backs, Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard. Meanwhile, Dallas also has a deadly trio in the form of CeeDee Lamb, Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup. Travis Frederick’s retirement may sting, but Tyron Smith, Zack Martin and La’el Collins will ensure that the offense is in good hands.

On the defensive front, DeMarcus Lawrence could be forced to play the role of Atlas. Fortunately, he has linebackers Jaylon Smith and Leighton Vander Esch to carry the weight of the Cowboys defence.

5) Philadelphia Eagles

There may be a few issues surrounding fielding Jalen Hurts or Carson Wentz, especially with the latter’s long-term health. The good news is that, the Eagles have strong receivers like Jalen Reagor, John Hightower and Marquise Goodwin. On the other side of the fence, the defense have the likes of Javon Hargrave, Darius Slay and Nickell Robey-Coleman. Even Doug Pederson posted consecutive 9-7 seasons since leading theEagles to a Super Bowl title in his second year.

6) Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen has improved by leaps and bounds and there is more scope for improvement. General manager Brandon Beane has also given Allen a decently talented team with the likes of Stefon Diggs and Zack Moss. All in all, Buffalo could be one of the biggest threats in the AFC East Division.

7) Los Angeles Chargers

Following the departure of quarterback Philip Rivers after 14 seasons, Tyrod Taylor will be the one to step up. However, the long-term choice is No. 6 overall pick Justin Herbert. The 6-foot-6, 236-pounder possesses incredible athletic makeup, arm talent and has a calm demeanor. Once he gets used to playing in the NFL, Herbert will turn heads in Los Angeles this decade.

Last year, Ryan Tannehill was on song and the onus is on him to keep up the momentum. Furthermore, Derrick Henry will be the Titans‘ lead running back and is capable of handling the defence. One can surely back them to gun for top dog honours from the New England Patriots.
