Eli Manning is a highly cherished football player in the world of the NFL, especially when you count the love and loyalty shown to him by the New York Giants fans. Recently, the former Super Bowl winner shared a picture. In the picture, he was standing with three other gridiron icons. While the player posted the pic with all good intentions, it did not save him from being the target of NFL fans on Twitter.

The picture in question is a star-studded affair. Brian Westbrook, Eli Manning, Donald Driver and all-time great Joe Montana posed together for a picture. While this picture found its way to Eli’s Twitter account, the quarterback captioned it, “Ran into a few good football players today”. And while the icons pose together, it gave the fans a perfect opportunity to get Eli. As he became the subject of many trolls, there was no remorse shown to any legend.

When so many known faces come together in a single photo, it is certain to catch attention in abundance. Many took this opportunity to go after Eli. This fan made a point to establish that there was only one player he did not know.

While Manning ran into three good football players, this fan reminded him that there was one other person in the photo who was standing with these greats.

When you are standing next to Joe Montana, it’s hard to eclipse his presence. This fan acknowledged the fact and told the former Giant to take no offense to that.

However, even a legend like Montana could not avoid the fire from the fans. When the attention went to his flannel, jokes turned around to him as well.

And where there are attempts to take down Eli Manning, there is always a wall of Giants’ loyalists to cover him.

While the debates about whether the quarterback should be a Hall of Famer or not still persist. This fan believes Eli has achieved much more.

There is hardly a chance that any NFL fan has not heard of Joe Montana. The quarterback spent 15 seasons in the league from 1979 to 1994, with 8 Pro Bowl selections and 3-time First-team All-Pro. Further adding 4 rings to his jewelry collection. All of his Super Bowl wins came with the San Francisco 49ers.

Donald Driver is another one of the icons of the league. A Green Bay Packers favourite. The wide receiver spent his entire career with the Packer Nation, making 3 Pro Bowl selections and topping it off with a Super Bowl championship in 2010.
