Is it no secret that NFL players earn a lot of money from their careers as professional footballers. This makes them targets of interest for various criminals and criminal organizations. This year, the state of Ohio has had a small increase in crime rates, jumping from 3.1 crimes per 1000 people to 3.4. But the past few days have seen a drastic increase in the criminal targeting of players of the Cleveland Browns.

According to reports, an anonymous Browns player was robbed of his car and jewelry. This makes it the third Brown player to be targeted by criminals for expensive possessions. Prior to this, CB Greg Newsome II was also robbed at gunpoint in Cleveland, with the robbers fleeting with his car. Newson’s robbery occurred just after RB Demetric Felton had his car stolen on Sunday. This raises doubts over whether it is a pre-planned attack against these NFL players, or whether these criminals are only after their expensive possessions. Newsome took to social media to talk about the incident, as he tweeted, “It’s a cruel world we live in🙏”
