The Chiefs had been facing a contract dispute with Chris Jones throughout the offseason. Rumors swirled that Jones might choose to hold out, leaving a significant void in the Chiefs’ defense for the opener game.

Disagreement between Chris Jones and the Chiefs

KMBC YouTube channel shared a video, which featured Jones at the Chiefs’ annual Red Wednesday festivities, aimed at raising funds for children. With the entire NFL community on edge, Jones addressed the situation that had been looming over the Chiefs throughout the offseason. Highlighting the dispute Jones shared, “I don’t think there’s no animosity between me and the Chief’s organization. I think there’s just a, you know, a little disagreement. You know, I’m asking for a raise. They feel like this is what I deserve. I feel like I deserve more.

However, the differences in Chiefs’ and Jones’ perspectives, boiled down to a point, which can lead to the Chiefs potentially missing out on Jones in their first game against the Detroit Lions. Moreover, this is just the tip of the iceberg, tight end Travis Kelce faced an injury during the practice session, which led to the speculations of him missing out on the game against the Lions. While fans are happy to see Jones out and around, they admit they would be happier if they see him on the field.
