With Tom Brady Gone, Linebacker Shaquil Barrett Believes the Buccaneers Can Compete for a Championship: “We Most Definitely Are Still Going to Be Contenders”
Tom Brady announced his retirement from football, breaking the hearts of all his fans around the globe. It is undeniable that he was the greatest sports player ever and has left a void in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that nobody can fill. In light of this news, it is unclear how the Buccaneers will react to this development heading into the off-season.
Brady’s retirement means that the Buccaneers will be without their superstar player starting next season. Additionally, it means the team will also have to restructure its offense. It is not like the Bucs will replace Brady with someone who can do the same job. They have to find new players, and it may take some time before they become a champion team again.

The Buccaneers, however, think otherwise. The team believes they can still be contenders in the NFL-2022 season, given the talents they still possess in the squad. “We most definitely are still going to be contenders,” said outside linebacker Shaquil Barrett. He added, “We’ve still got a lot of guys on the team who are hungry to have a taste of being in the playoffs, to have a taste of winning a Super Bowl.”

Barrett also mentioned that their organization loves challenges and they will do whatever it takes to find the right people. Finally, he said all three departments, offense, defense, and special teams, have to step up and fight like champions.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers with NO Tom Brady
The Buccaneers have a handful of Pro Bowlers in their squad, including Barret, Mike Evans, Ali Marpet, Devin White, Vita Vea, Tristan Wirfs, and Antoine Winfield Jr. Thus, there is no question that the Bucs do possess talent on their roster. However, there are concerns regarding the players down the roster, besides the quarterback.
