Former NFL player Nathaniel Burleson spoke on Good Morning Football about the Cleveland Browns’ season so far. Burleson was impressed with how well Baker Mayfield has played for the Browns.
What caught Burleson’s eye was that they have been playing so well even without star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr, who was sidelined due to an injury.

“What stood out is that Baker Mayfield is playing well. The offense is flowing. The run game is the heart of this movement. And the pass game is really starting to take shape even without Odell Beckham Jr.”
Burleson continued his praise for Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns. “He (Baker Mayfield) has been killing it on the field and his press conferences…All of a sudden the Browns are winning and are kind of crazy, sexy, cool if you know what I mean.”

For Burleson, he has been a supporter and a believer of the Cleveland Browns for quite some time, even before he had any reason for optimism with the team. But he understood why they struggled in the past, and it was a lack of support for Mayfield.

“Here’s the thing; I’ve been on the Browns for a few years… It’s because I saw this coming. Maybe I was a little too soon. They didn’t have the right coach.
“They didn’t have the right pieces around Baker Mayfield. But the Browns are one of the most entertaining teams in all of football…”

Burleson believes that the Browns have worked hard for their place in the NFL. “I want to see the Cleveland Browns in the Playoffs.
“All jokes aside, this isn’t just a team that has lucked up and found their place on the top of the NFL. This is a team that worked their butt off and Baker Mayfield is leading them.”
It remains to be seen how the Browns perform in the Playoffs this year. If they can build on this momentum, they can be a threat to any major contender.
