“You Didn’t Have an Excuse Last Year, You Should’ve Won”: In 2021, Tom Brady Had The Best Chance to Get to His 11th Super Bowl & Win 8 Titles, NFL Hall of Famer Explains
NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe believes Tom Brady had the best chance of winning another Lombardi trophy last season. In the show, both Skip Bayless and Shanon discuss the possibility of Brady securing his 8th title. Moreover, the veteran points out why the Buccaneers had the best team to win the Super Bowl LVI. The scenario is unfavorable now that most stars have retired or traded.
Shannon Sharpe points out that Tom Brady is undoubtedly the NFL GOAT. However, he needs a star team to win the championship. With his star TE Rob Gronkowski retiring, Brady’s offense lineup does not have the same strength as before. Sharpe says that the Buccaneers did not have an excuse last season and should have won. But the Rams outplayed them, resulting in the Bucs getting eliminated.

In 2021, TB12 scored 43 touchdowns and completed 5316 yards. This exceptional record deserved his qualification to the Super Bowl. However, the Rams kept turning the ball over and did not give the Bucs a chance to get the game under their control. As a result, none of the defense or offense lineup players could do anything to save them from elimination.
The 7x Super Bowl champion and his team were optimistic about qualifying for the Super Bowl. But, with Howard, Gronk, Suh, and Jason-Piere Paul gone from the Buccaneers, Brady’s ambition of another ring looks bleak.
What is Sharpe’s analysis for Tom Brady winning another Super Bowl in 2022?
Shannon Sharpe had a few critical comments reflecting on the chances the 44-year-old had last year versus this year. On Undisputed with Skip and Shannon, the HOFer said, “Gronk is gone, O.J. Howard is gone. So you know you’ve some things, but that’s still Tom Brady. You lose Ndamukong Suh of the defensive line and JPP. But you replaced them with some of those guys, so there’s no excuse.”

He added, “You didn’t have an excuse last year. You should’ve won last year because this team was very talented. You should’ve lost by three touchdowns but the Rams offense kept turning the ball over kept in the ball game, but you know I love it when you think you got victory and somebody snatches it from you.”
