Dak Prescott could not break the Dallas Cowboys‘ 27-year Super Bowl drought with their elimination last night. The 49ers beat America’s Team 19-12 in the divisional round game. And this was Dak’s third divisional knockout in his career. However, Dak made a promise of a fourth one and fans were weary.

Dak Prescott made the promise for next year

Dak Prescott led the league this year with his 15 interceptions despite not playing 5 games. And he added 2 more on Sunday night against the league’s best defense. The Niners overturned his picks for 6 crucial points. However, the 29-year-old former Bulldog is not intimidated.

Nah, if I had the answers, we would’ve won tonight. Honestly, too early. Too soon. I promise you we will, though. And my time playing for this team or this organization, we will. Yeah, it sucks that it’s 365 days away to get back to this position, but we’ve got to take it day by day, step by step, and that’s what I’ll do. I know that’s who I am,” Prescott said at the post-game press conference.

The Dallas Cowboys lost Tony Pollard at the end of the second quarter, and Prescott’s inability to pull them through didn’t sit well with fans.

Fans didn’t buy Prescott’s hollow promise

Prescott only had a single touchdown over 206 passing yards to show for his 2 picks. Dalton Schultz caught the only Dak touchdown. And Cowboys Country wants a more dependable QB.

Dak Prescott also played a major role in last year’s divisional-round loss against the same opponents, the San Francisco 49ers. And a repeat of 2021’s calamity shocked viewers. Even a die-hard Dallas fan like Skip Bayless has gotten rid of his Prescott merch.
