The Buffalo Bills are gearing up for the upcoming season against the AFC’s new powerhouse, the Jets. Their star QB, Josh Allen, is all set for the season, and they’ve got a compact roster with some new faces. They did pretty well in the preseason games, too. But amidst all the excitement, there are some unsung heroes who haven’t had it easy. One of them is Ike Boettger, who plays as a guard for the team.

The undrafted free agent has had a roller coaster journey with the Bills for the past few seasons, which sadly came to an abrupt end. His wife took to social media, penning a heartfelt note of this journey, away from home, which has received notable reactions from fans and close friends.

Josh Allen’s teammate is moving on from Buffalo

Originally from Iowa, Boettger was signed as an undrafted agent by the Bills back in 2018 and made his debut against the Dolphins in the same year. In 2021, he was also named the backup guard of the team. Then the next year, they signed him once again on the reserve list. This year the guard was signed, however, the team unfortunately had to release him only a week back.

After this unfortunate release, Boettger’s wife, Katie, shared a set of pictures on Instagram along with a heartfelt note. The first picture shows the happy family of four, all smiles, with his wife and son sporting Bills’ jerseys. She also put together a collage of some special moments they’ve had together. In the other photos, Boettger can be seen posing with his daughter and also standing next to his star QB teammate.

Boettger may be moving on, but the team is in good hands and is sure to make strides in the upcoming season, maybe even getting some sweet revenge from last season’s loss to the Chiefs.
