NFL world shared relief when Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa was discharged from hospital. The 24-year-old talented star suffered a scary injury against the Bengals. He was immediately rushed for treatment. Several analysts and fans expressed deep concern while outlining the need for tough concussion rules.

Sports podcaster Pat McAfee asked the NFL community to follow restraint on the incident. The 35-year-old said it is better to wait for the truth to come out. He added the investigation would lead to knowing what happened regarding concussions. “So I just didn’t want to like I think you’re saying some really terrible things about people like McDaniel, the Miami Dolphins medical staff, and it might all be very true. But I just think immediately, assuming that’s what they did because of how scary last night was, which is not great at all. I think it’s a dangerous thing,” he added.

Tua Tagovailoa and concussion issue raises debate

The incident raised concerns about players’ safety. The NFLPA requested a review of the concussion protocols. Executive director DeMaurice Smith said they will consider legal remedies. They will pursue legal options such as making referrals against doctors, licensing agencies, and the teams.

Earlier, Tagovailoa stumbled to his feet while struggling to maintain balance after hitting his head on the field. A week later, he suffered another scary injury while playing against the Bengals. Initial tests confirm Tua did not suffer any structural damage. The talented star was later flown back with the team to South Florida. Several NFL stars, including Patrick Mahomes, Tweeted, wishing him a speedy recovery.

Coach Mike McDaniel said they’ll play with Terry Bridgewater as starting QB due to the injury. The 39-year-old coach noted a distant possibility of the star returning to action in Week 5.
