Gianni Infantino, the head honcho of FIFA, the global football governing body, ventured into the heart of American football territory again in week 3. Before this, his destination was the iconic AT&T Stadium, which just a few years ago hosted matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. A peculiar sight, one might say. But was he welcomed with open arms?

As Infantino’s face graced the massive video board at AT&T Stadium, a peculiar sound emanated from the crowd – boos. However, this wasn’t the end of his NFL escapade. He made a return appearance, this time at MetLife Stadium, for a game featuring the New York Jets and their perennial rivals, the New England Patriots.

Jets owner, Woody Johnson extended a warm welcome to Infantino, as the FIFA president made his presence known on a different football field. Woody Johnson took to X to share the news of Infantino’s attendance at the Patriots-Jets clash. Someone wrote on X, “FIFA president Gianni Infantino at the Patriots Jets game.” Woody Johnson shared a video and wrote: “A warm welcome to @FIFAcom president Gianni Infantino here at MetLife Stadium.”

Infantino’s recent excursion witnessed the Cowboys trouncing the Jets with a final score of 30-10. A raucous crowd of over 90,000 fans packed the stadium. However, the boos didn’t elude Infantino; they followed him from AT&T Stadium to MetLife. But this wasn’t the first time Infantino dipped his toes into the NFL waters.
