The Detroit Lions are at the top of the food chain, no pun intended. They went from one of the hopeless teams last season to one of the most coveted teams in this one. Jared Goff & Co. did wonders against the Packers. Going into the Lambeau, the Lions have been the favorite for the first time in the last 37 years. Now that the Lions lead 3-1, the whole NFL community and the media have their eyes on the Detroit Lions. Even Skip Bayless quit his shenanigans and spoke out on Twitter.

In the post-game interview, Jordan Love mentioned how he could easily see the Lions at the top and hoped to play against them in the future. People like Eminem, Pat McAfee, and even Coach Pagano paid their respects to the underdogs. But this is about Skip Bayless. The self-proclaimed NFL pundit has something to say about the Lions.

He recently made a post on Twitter, the usual business, however this time he didn’t go on a rant. He simply showed love to the Detroit Lions and said what everyone is saying about the Lions right now. The tweet simply said, “ Detroit … dare I say … is starting to look like a … contender.”, implying that he could see the Lions as a playoffs contender.

Suddenly, for some reason, the whole community is hyped about the Lions. Why? It’s because they rank at the top of the NFC North Standings, just above the Packers.

The game was exciting, to say the least. David Montgomery scored 3 touchdowns in just one game. Jared Goff pulled up with one touchdown as well. Also, dare we forget about those four receptions by Sam LaPorta. However, this time, the defense deserves a pat on the back. Aaron Glenn, the Lions DC, deserves special applause. When the team played with the Atlanta Falcons last time, the Lions held them at 6 points and took the game by a considerable margin. They did an amazing job this time around as well.

Now that all this has happened, the next game against the Carolina Panthers looks like a cakewalk.

The Lions at the top of the food chain

The Lions are at a point where they have never been for the past six seasons. They have really revamped themselves going forward, as was clear at the start of their season. Now that they have beaten the Packers in the NFC standings, they have all the attention that they could get. Eminem also tweeted about his home team and showed them some love. We know how hard it is to impress Eminem.

Following this game, the team will be playing against the Panthers in their home stadium at Ford Field. The Lions are the obvious favorites here as the Panthers have displayed nothing but a dismal performance. We’ll just have to see what happens next. One thing is for sure, the Lions won’t be knocked off that easily from their current standing.

The Lions will also be playing against the Packers again in the Ford Stadium. Maybe the Packers will do to them what the Lions did on their home turf. Will the Lions slip off from their current ranking? Will the Packers be able to reclaim their spot? What do you think?
