The bad news just doesn’t stop coming in for the Dallas Cowboys. After a 42-10 loss to the 49ers, they are getting even more highlights, but for all the wrong reasons. The all-prestigious Cowboys defense was left battered by the end of the game and CJ Goodwin is paying the price for it. So much so, that some players from the Cowboys are now out of the league for the entirety of the 2023 season.

The Cowboys were quickly humbled because, in a single game, they were defeated with the same number of points that they gave up in 4 weeks combined. The Cowboys are coming to grips after the sun just set on them. The injury list following the game reveals that one of their ace players will not be playing anytime soon. Adam Schefter shed more light on the Cowboys’ injury list.

This just came in from Adam Schefter as he shells out some more bad news from the Cowboys. Their special team’s ace cornerback CJ Goodwin will be out for the whole season after he suffered a torn pectoral, sad for the CB indeed. How much more can the Cowboys afford to lose? Well, this turmoil doesn’t end here because there is an extensive injury list for the Cowboys to peruse.

Do you remember Leighton Vander Esch? The guy who ran into Micah Parsons and hit his neck? Well, he is in the IR right now. That was a nasty crash, to say the least. Unfortunately, he is expected to miss 4-6 weeks from now, especially ahead of some major games one of which is against the Eagles. To their dismay, the list doesn’t stop here as Donovan Wilson also exited the game early with a leg injury. Also, CBs Jourdan Lewis and DaRon Bland suffered unknown injuries as well.

Along with this, Trevon Diggs, the CB has also missed a couple of games due to his torn ACL in the week 3 practice. Now that’s called a triple threat, but in opposite. Don’t know how the Cowboys will handle future games, although it’s not a problem at all for the 49ers because after this game, they are on cloud 9 of the NFC West.

What’s next for the Cowboys?

All these injuries have left the Cowboys beaten and vulnerable both mentally and physically. For the first time in a while, they might have a chance of losing against the LA Chargers, with whom they play next. Three major hits and a trailing record don’t help the Cowboys make it to the top of their division, let alone the playoffs. The team now stands second in the NFC East division, but the next game might help them dictate the trajectory of this season.

However, we cannot completely ignore the LA Chargers because they are standing 2 in the AFC East and are going with a 2-2 equilibrium. The thing about the Chargers is, their QB1 Justin Herbert’s participation in the game is questionable right now, which might give Prescott an advantage.
