“Even Patrick Mahomes Isn’t Perfect”- 49ers’ Brock Purdy Misses 12 Passes and Labeled ‘Lucky’, Rich Eisen Makes a Case for MVP

On Tuesday, the San Francisco 49ers released their depth chart. However, the highlight of the list was the part that mentioned the QB Brock Purdy next to an esteemed MVP company. Courtesy of his commanding performance on the field, Purdy has managed to his registered beside the likes of Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson.

However, not everyone appeared to be pleased with the association of this prestigious title with the QB. As the 23-year-old managed to execute 2 touchdowns as well as 310 passing yards against the New York Giants, there was one individual who looked happy with the footballer’s skills. It was the radio host Rich Eisen who came bearing support for the young QB.

After winning the match with the Giants, Purdy’s total score became 736, with no interceptions at all. Interestingly, this is his score across 3 games in this season which speaks volumes for itself. Due to his exceptional performance, the player managed to become the 3rd NFL quarterback to tally these many passing yards with no interceptions to hinder his play along with 4 touchdowns.

Prior to Purdy, it was the quarterback Patrick Mahomes and QB Lamar Jackson were the only ones younger than him who achieved the same thing. They were awarded the MVP trophies in those seasons, which consequently left the young QB in a similar state. Hence, it was no surprise to witness it being discussed at the recent ‘The Rich Eisen Show’.

The show host, Rich Eisen, talked about Purdy’s MVP trophy and how it holds value for the footballer. Acknowledging his game, Eisen said, “He missed 12 passes, and he got lucky.” Although that wasn’t the only point the TV host was trying to make across. He evidently pointed how no one is perfect according to him. Brock Purdy also happens to fall under same radar.

However, it was the efforts of the American player that garnered the praises from the experienced host. Comparing Purdy to the star QB, Mahomes, Eisen said, “I know it’s tough to say, even Patrick Mahomes isn’t perfect.”

Furthermore, he added that Purdy might not be perfect, but he’s surely perfect for the team at this moment. This performance of the player automitically drew attention to the injury he had suffered previously. In fact, Purdy’s injuries did not seem to affect his game at all, to the point that even his surgeon was surprised by his recovery.

The growth graph of Purdy is clear to all. He’s been the most unwanted rookie before and now he’s secured the place for one of the best QB’s in the NFC conference, recently. Back in March this year, Dr. Keith Meister had to perform surgery on Prudy’s right elbow. The part of his body that has suffered a tear in the first quarter of the NFC Championship event, where they were defeated by the Philadelphia Eagles.

According to his surgeon, the recovery time for his torn UCL surgery is about 12 months. Surprisingly, the player managed to heal himself in exactly 6 months. The surgeon commented that Prudy is a special kid as he’s recovered in half the time needed.
