The Detroit Lions are coming off a stellar one-sided win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This marks the 4 straight wins for the Detroit Lions and makes Jared Goff the hero of the game after he pulled up with some impressive numbers. The team took a beating in the process, but the Lions broke a record that they haven’t broken since the last decade. Even Eminem came out again to celebrate the 4 win.

This marks a 5-1 bullet start for the Lions as they roar their way out of the Bucs game with a 20-6 win. Sometime earlier, Baker Mayfield expressed his admiration of Jared Goff when he said, ‘Jared’s a stud’. Well, that turned out to be true, as the game concluded. Not only this, but the game also opened some old wounds.

The Detroit Lions are starting 5-1 this season. This is interesting. Why? Because last time they had such a strong come up was back in 2011. What’s even more interesting is that before 2011, the team had this stellar start back in 1990. At the time when Matthew Stafford was playing the Lions in 2011, they ended up 10-6 in their regular games. But they lost in the first round of the playoffs. Maybe they will be able to keep this streak up as Jared Goff is giving it all given that a lot of Lions players were injured.

The pressure was building up for the Lions after David Montgomery got injured in the game and the pressure fueled Goff as he threw 353 yards for 2 touchdowns leading the Lions to a victory. Unfortunately, David Montgomery suffered a rib injury and might not step on the field for an undisclosed time. The Lions have a long way to go and for the first time in a decade, people think of the Lions as Super Bowl contenders.

This fast ascent has marked an NFL record for the Lions. Hopefully, they keep this momentum up.

Jared Goff is a stud

Jared Goff threw 44 passes and connected 30 of them, coming up with 68.2% completed passes in a single game. Not to mention those 2 touchdowns to his name. Not to mention the pass he threw to Amon-Ra St. Brown which the Brown carried for a touchdown. So far, Goff has 1,618 passing yards and 11 touchdowns to his name. What’s surprising is that in 5 games, he’s only been intercepted 3 times. This speaks volumes about his career as a quarterback.

As it stands, the Detroit Lions are at the top of the NFC North with a 5-1 record. They are headed to play against the Baltimore Ravens in their next game. The Ravens are also on the greener side of the grass as they are ahead 4-2. It would be interesting to see Jared Goff go against Lamar Jackson and Co. who are coming off a win against the Titans.
