After a lot of heartbreaking news from the NFC division, there is finally something for the light-hearted folks out there. The media these days is full of the likes of the NY Giants, Chicago Bears, and the Jets. Jason Licht on how Baker Mayfield is a ‘dude’ with the team

Peter Schrager uploaded a video on X, and it is a lengthy conversation between him and the Buccaneers GM Jason Licht. The conversation starts off on a good note when the GM pegs Mayfield for being a “very smart person”. Licht mentions how the Bucs exercised due diligence when it came to Mayfield, even though they were not looking for a new QB. Apparently, it was Mayfield who was targeting the Tampa Bay team. This was challenging for Mayfield as he was only secondary to Kyle Trask, but he took it head-on.

This also resulted in Trask stepping his game up on the field and taking the new addition as a healthy challenge. There is a question that the Bucs GM always finds himself answering. And it is about Mayfield’s personality. Somehow, there is a rumor that people didn’t take a liking to the Bucs QB1. Licht addresses it by saying that there might have been a few incidents in the past that gave people a wrong impression about him, but he is a good guy.

He shifts the conversation to the moment when the QB1 took the O-Line to the Bahamas for some golfing. Surprisingly, he also finds time for drinks with his teammates. He mentions that Mayfield is not “fake”.

“He’s that guy. He’s the man. And it’s not fake,” mentioned the Bucs GM.

The Pirates go against the Lions

The Bucs are soon going against the Detroit Lions. Baker Mayfield has had an impressive record this season with 7 touchdowns and 882 passing yards. He is also currently rated 7 in the quarterback ratings. However, the competition is fierce, as he will go against Jared Goff and Co. soon. Goff has had 6 touchdowns in the season so far, but he has also passed over 1,000 yards this season. Now those are some numbers.
